 James Hansen may be the top climate scientist at NASA, but he's no fan of democracy. While on a trip to China last November, Hansen wrote - in the South China Morning Post, no less - about the way to bring America around to his way of thinking... or bring us to our knees economically. Pardon me, but such actions come perilously close to treasonous, if not actually crossing that line. One must also wonder whether he traveled there on taxpayer money to plunge a dagger into our backs.

I suppose there should be a modicum of gratitude offered to the good doctor, since he has tipped the hand of the warming alarmist crowd and their desire to wreak havoc on our economy. However, since my little corner of the blogosphere is one of the few places where such an admission will be exposed, I doubt that much will ever come of it.

ABC News will certainly never "out" James Hansen or his despicable plans for America with the aid of the Communist Chinese. More likely, they will champion his cause as somehow righteous in the face of the knuckle-dragging deniers who consider him to be a kook. What troubles me, however, is that he will also be not only ignored for his seditious op-ed in a Chinese paper, but he will never be paid a visit by the agencies responsible for protecting American interests and sovereignty.

There have been dopey entertainers who have traveled abroad in the past for the purpose of bashing America  as self aggrandizement, and while that is still deplorable, it is largely meaningless and dismissible. When an alleged expert who makes his living by the grace of the American taxpayer as an agent of the Federal government does it, it carries some weight, at least in the eyes of our enemies.

Part of Hansen's diatribe in a Chinese publication stated the following:

"After agreement with other nations, e.g., the European Union, China and these nations could impose rising internal carbon fees. Existing rules of the World Trade Organization would allow collection of a rising border duty on products from all nations that do not have an equivalent internal carbon fee or tax.

The United States then would be forced to make a choice. It could either address its fossil-fuel addiction ... or ... accept continual descent into second-rate and third-rate economic well-being."

As Patrick J. Michaels of The Washington Times correctly points out, "The WTO, in fact, has not 'ruled' that it can impose environmental tariffs of any kind, much less those of such magnitude that they would destroy the world's largest economy." Nevertheless, Hansen makes the assertion, and disciples of the myth of AGW believe it, completely oblivious to the fact that their hero had just advocated that a foreign nation force his own into a position detrimental to it.

I have to believe that if an employee of the federal government traveled overseas and asked his host country to launch a missile attack on the United States, that person would immediately earn the status of enemy of the state, and be arrested and tried for treason upon his return on extradition, if possible. Why is it different, then, for a government scientist to beg for an economic assault from China as a means to achieve a desired goal that is bitterly disputed?

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was created by the George W. Bush administration in response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Even some of his supporters were wary of its creation, fearing what it would become under future administrations. Those concerns are rapidly becoming warranted.

When DHS, under the current administration, is more concerned with Grandma's Polygrip at the airline security checkpoint than with someone of James Hansen's "gravitas" inviting economic Armageddon from the Chinese at the most vulnerable fiscal juncture in our history, there is cause for genuine alarm. Will such terrible news sell the most switches from Insurer X to Geico in the 6 O'Clock slot on ABC News? Probably not, which is why many will never learn of it, and arguably half of those who do will refuse to believe it simply because of ABC's refusal to report it.

So Long, Cap And Trade!

"We've been duped!" Those are the first three words I want to hear from the mainstream media bobble heads. And from Al Gore, I want to hear, "Oh crap, I'm broke!" An apology would be nice, too.

So-called experts have been telling us that a little cold snap, such as we're experiencing all across the Northern Hemisphere, did not pardon make, and that we were nonetheless still destroying the planet with our belching of CO2. "Pay no attention to that frigid weather", they said, because weather and climate are separate issues. They told us of the melting arctic ice cap and how the north pole would be ice free in summer by 2013.

According to a story from Sunday in the UK's Daily Mail, this cold weather we're in the midst of is only the beginning of a "global trend towards cooler weather that is likely to last for 20 or 30 years, say some of the world’s most eminent climate scientists." The article goes on:

"Their predictions – based on an analysis of natural cycles in water temperatures in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans – challenge some of the global warming orthodoxy’s most deeply cherished beliefs, such as the claim that the North Pole will be free of ice in
summer by 2013.

According to the US National Snow and Ice Data Centre in Colorado, Arctic summer sea ice has increased by 409,000 square miles, or 26 per cent, since 2007 – and even the most committed global warming activists do not dispute this."

Since 2007? Why have we been told all this time that the arctic sea ice was still declining? Perhaps the most confusing aspect of all of this is that it's cooling while CO2 levels continue to rise. Something just doesn't quite add up here, folks. You can be certain that the Disciples of AGW are working feverishly (pardon the pun) to develop the a way to spin this into even more proof of their insane theories.

It remains to be seen how the media - which has been eager accomplices in propagating this lie - will report on these findings. Will they be angry that they were played for fools? And what of the schools, which been teaching the children about the destructive ways of their mommies and daddies? Will they now be forced to recant?

My guess is that the cap and trade machine will suddenly turn on the very scientists they touted in their crusade who now reveal the scam. This is going to either be a very bumpy and thrilling ride, or once you're done reading here, this is the last you'll ever hear on the subject. Only time will tell.

Wild About HARRY

There has been much ado about the leaked - or hacked, depending on the point of view - emails from the Climate Research Unit of East Anglia in the U.K., not that the alleged "mainstream" media has paid much heed. But while the argument against their significance has been child's play for the likes of Al Gore, there is a much deeper problem with the "settled science" of which Gore proudly speaks, and it is revealed in the .txt file called HARRY_READ_ME.txt.

Just who is Harry? According to Pajamas Media, he is a researcher at the CRU named Ian “Harry” Harris. I have pored over the entire text file and, if critiqued as a novel, I could best sum it up as a poignant tale of relentless and bitter frustration as a man, tasked with the impossible and given faulty tools, tries frantically to meet an equally impossible deadline.

As we're constantly reminded in print accounts of the email scandal, the CRU of East Anglia is nearly always preceded by the word "prestigious". It should be, since most of the IPCC's findings are based on that institution's research. But reading the notes of "Harry" gives one pause when asked for explicit trust. Just a few examples of "Harry's" tribulations:

So, uhhhh.. what in tarnation is going on? Just how off-beam are these datasets?!!

Unbelievable – even here the conventions have not been followed. It’s botch after botch after botch.

So what’s going on? I don’t see how the ‘final’ precip file can have been produced from the ‘final’ precipitation database, even though the dates imply that. The obvious conclusion is that the precip file must have been produced before 23 Dec 2003, and then redated (to match others?) in Jan 04.

There is no way of knowing which Tim used to produce the current public files. The scripts differ internally but – you guessed it! – the descriptions at the start are identical. WHAT IS GOING ON?

Where is the documentation to explain all this?!

So what the hell did Tim do?!! As I keep asking.

It’s halfway through April and I’m still working on it. This surely is the worst project I’ve ever attempted. Eeeek.

Oh bugger. What the HELL is going on?!

Considering the draconian impact the actions currently being proposed in Copenhagen would have on the world's economy and personal liberties, it stands to reason that they must be viewed as more than drastic given the tortured route of the diagnosis. And it may not be "Harry's" fault at all but, rather, the fault of those who placed the burden of time on him.

Imagine taking your new car for service because the "check engine" light is constantly lit. Not being a mechanic, you naturally take it to the experts. After an hour of watching the technician curse and scratch his head in confounded exasperation, you become suspicious that perhaps he is not so expert after all. Then, to make matters worse, the station manager comes to you and says that your best bet is to just buy another car.

Reading the "Harry" file is like watching the same, tortured process with an even more horrendous outcome. Cap and trade, and a global governance on carbon emissions based on the uncertain findings of a frazzled process is madness.

California may be considered another world by many who do not live there, but just how far away is it that its governor doesn't receive the memos from Earth? Arnold Schwarzenegger on Wednesday unveiled a dramatic "climate-change" map showing a flooded San Francisco of the future. And it will all be your fault, Ebenezer, unless you submit to the will of Al Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

It appears that Ahnold is not alone in his insulation from reality, as many disciples of anthropogenic global warming (AGW) have also accelerated the train in spite of the damning revelations from the Climate Research Unit in the U.K. and the manipulation of climate data by a group of scientists there. The Copenhagen meetings are going to go on as planned, and Al Gore, the messiah of man-made disaster, is claiming that even if successful, the meeting won't be enough to save us from ourselves.

Of course, the myth that there is a "consensus" among scientists that man is responsible for global warming wasn't enough to deter them even when 31,478 scientists came forward to question the 2,500 IPCC scientists claims. Alarmists scoffed that many of the 31,478 weren't climate scientists and, therefore, unqualified to comment. The science was still "settled", they said, and the debate was over. Yet the alleged "consensus" was drawn by the 2,500 IPCC scientists that the U.N. admits is comprised of 80% non-climate scientists.

Let's assume the same percentage as the opposition, shall we? That means that the alarmists' "consensus" is the opinion of 500 climate scientists versus 6,296 climate scientists who say they are wrong. It still doesn't matter to them, they plod ahead anyway, and rely on their Grand Poobah to keep the wheels greased, despite the fact that he's not a scientist of any discipline.

Real evidence is also meaningless to the alarmists, for it is clear that we have been in a decade-long cooling trend. "Well, that is only temporary", they say, "it's going to warm again even more rapidly!" I ask, "why?" and they will say it's because of the CO2 we're pumping into the atmosphere and we must stop it, at once! Here's where it gets ridiculous.

So far we have avoided the terrible measures these people plan to foist upon us. What that means is that there has been no reduction in CO2 atmospheric concentration. And yet it is cooling, so how are we to believe the lie that increased CO2 causes warming? Better still is how can they continue to perpetrate that lie? This question has been debated based on past plotting, which clearly shows that there is a lag between warming and rising CO2 levels, but we are currently living it and anyone can see that the theory is dead wrong. Warming is not caused by CO2.

We're also told of the devastating effect that warming has had and will have on the poor polar bears, who have been around for hundreds of thousands of years. How did the polar bears manage to survive the Medieval Warm Period without the aid of Man? How can people still believe in Al Gore when his movie has been punctured so badly, and his picture of the stranded polar bears clinging to an iceberg having been exposed for the fraud that it was?

I hope and pray that the Copenhagen meetings turn out to be nothing more than a mini vacation for the attendees. Remember, the thermostat is in God's room, and he insists that you knock before entering.

Safety In Numbers- How To Lie With Impunity

There used to be a time when being discovered standing over a dead body with the murder weapon in your hand was considered damning evidence, but it seems that the liberal mindset has relegated the smoking gun to mythological status, the veritable Pegasus of admissible probability. It is child's play to deny any wrong doing simply by denouncing your discoverers as liars and declaring the notion of your capacity to kill as ludicrous.

There are people who truly believe that George W. Bush and Dick Cheney covertly planted an intricate network of bombs throughout 220 stories of the Twin Towers with no one knowing a thing about it, or that anyone who did know has remained silent all this time. They believe it just as surely as they know the sun will rise in the East, despite the overwhelming logistical impossibility of it. Yet, these same people cannot conceive of a scientific cabal hellbent on economic and social domination even though the evidence is both abundant and mounting.

It is simply ridiculous, they will say, to think that so many people could possibly be in collusion, and the incriminating emails recently revealed prove nothing. Bragging of "tricking" temperature data or imploring colleagues to destroy potentially damaging emails has been "taken out of context", we're told. Then they will - with straight faces - accuse the deniers of being part of an oil-funded conspiracy to destroy the planet. Does anyone see the sick irony here?

While liberals are given the benefit of the doubt by their counterparts in the media, conservatives are condemned on here say alone. Tom Delay was run out of town because someone accused him of gerrymandering in Texas, yet Charles Rangel rolls on unimpeded as Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee after it was revealed that he failed to pay taxes. (The committee he chairs writes the tax laws). Timothy Geithner is the Secretary of the U.S. Treasury even though it was disclosed that he failed to pay his income taxes.

These are not new revelations, I know, but they must be taken in context with the grand Global Warming scheme, for just the mention of a Lord Monckton draws snickers and derision from the left, who cast him as a charlatan. It is much easier to avoid a serious discussion when the opponent is classified as unworthy of consideration rather than given a chance to be heard. The left simply cannot risk lending any form of credence to such "blasphemy". (Al Gore has been running from Monckton for quite some time now). And so they agree en masse to stifle any damaging discoveries and sneeringly scoff at accusations. And the media willingly abets.

I pray that James Inhofe and any like-thinking associates hang onto this like tenacious pit bulls and force it out into the mainstream. We have just witnessed the CRU being thoroughly embarrassed and supported to the hilt by a press that too fervently believes the lies they've been told. What's worse is that they are now less curious about the truth and more eager to perpetuate the lie, which is precisely why they are on the same page in portraying this devastating disclosure as no big deal. If they reported accurately on the news, too many people who may not have had the AGW belief firmly ingrained in their psyches may begin to doubt.

That would be unacceptable to a crowd that not only clearly subscribes to the lessons of Goebbels, but has managed to out do him. Keep lying and never stop denying. And if we can get more than half of the people to lie, then it must be the truth.

Our Near-Death Experience at the Hands of Global Warming Alarmists

History is rife with examples of the value hindsight could offer were it not so aptly named, for its very nomenclature suggests the tardiness by which it is presented. The utter destruction of many past societies, when examined by the cooler heads of historians, could have been easily averted if only the participants at the time had the benefit of such counsel.

In the computer age, it must be acknowledged that hackers and writers of malicious code are usually of the criminal element, certainly. But when the unscrupulous stumble upon a scheme more nefarious than their own, and when they expose it for the good of their fellow Earthly inhabitants, I believe that some leniency may be in order.

The people responsible for the release of the incriminating emails of the perpetrators of the Global Warming Scam may have done more to save the Free World than they realized. Of course I could be wrong. They may very well have known exactly what they were doing, which to me would only enhance my gratitude to them. Unfortunately, the American media establishment suddenly sprouted "consciences" and refuse to report on this major development because the source is tainted. Please...

So very near to their goal of a New World Order were these alleged scientists and their accomplices that carelessness got the better of them. They were on a clear, unobstructed trajectory - on auto pilot - to the landing strip; Copenhagen. Then someone spilled their beverage on the console and the plane demanded human attention, but those in the cockpit were novices. It seems that the folks in the tower had it right all along.

As for those who squawked the loudest about this myth, even the antithesis to Lord Monckton, George Monbiot, was humiliated as he stated, "It’s no use pretending that this isn't a major blow. The emails extracted by a hacker from the climatic research unit at the University of East Anglia could scarcely be more damaging. I am now convinced that they are genuine, and I’m dismayed and deeply shaken by them." Monbiot mentions the illegality of this bombshell but still concedes that "there are some messages that require no spin to make them look bad."

The entire argument that "the science is settled" has been erased in a swift revelation by some person or group of people who will be classified in the coming days as being anywhere between the unprincipled to the intrepid. To be sure, the left will attempt to fixate the public's attention on the actions of the hackers to deflect from the broader issue of what they have discovered. It seems that the media today is less interested in truth and more cognizant of what would be considered admissible evidence.

Nevertheless, the damage inflicted thus far is damning to the tyrannical and a blessing to free people. Thankfully, our population seems to have recently awakened from a warm, comfortable slumber and will no longer tolerate the dictation of news dissemination by once-noble news sources that have long ago watched their own souls depart in nearly transparent, ghostly vapors. While it admittedly took the shock of having our nightcovers suddenly ripped off of us on a cold night, we have the political opposition to thank.

Nothing like a cold slap in the face to revive the contest.

The Longest Mile For Cloward-Piven

Forty years ago, back in the 1960's, a pair of Columbia University professors, named Cloward and Piven, developed a strategy of "manufactured crisis" to incrementally move the United States toward a socialist society. The Cloward-Piven Strategy was simple. It reasoned that people would not willingly surrender their lives to ever-increasing government control, but would do so slowly and unwittingly if they were frightened enough.

Democrats - who have historically been the self-proclaimed "champions of the little guy" - enjoyed complete dominance of the legislative branch of the federal government for forty years. In those forty years, they complained about the plight of that same little guy, but never quite managed to deliver on its promises. It was part of the Cloward-Piven Strategy; keep the people hungry and wanting while promising that you would be their savior.

For far too long people believed it thanks to the brilliant rhetoric of the left, who somehow were able to manipulate the masses into blindness. So it became much easier to employ the professors' plan when the Earth began to warm up quite nicely, and boy, did people fall into line. Easily convinced that our way of life - while very enjoyable - was going to come to an ugly end unless we made draconian sacrifices, the creation of an entire sub-culture of self-flagellation was child's' play. Finally, the people were ready to be strictly controlled, mistakenly believing that such an existence was surely better than horribly dying at their own hands.

Enter Al Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), who set the stage for what nearly sealed the deal on world dominance. A compliant media made the sale of this more palatable to the public, who thought that if Reuters and the AP were saying it, it must be true. The debate soon became extremely contentious between the true believers and the deniers, who were immediately cast as heretics and criminals. The perfect storm (pardon the pun) was nearly upon us. Then, something terrible happened.

First, people began to wipe the slumber from their eyes and started to realize that the ultimate culmination of the Democrats plot was an unmitigated disaster. Conservatives took to the streets for the first time in their lives, joined by Independents and even some disgruntled Democrats, to protest the rampant spending and power grabs by a new administration. With the finish line in sight, the wheels began to fall off of the socialist bus. Refusing to concede defeat, the driver limped along on the hubs. Then, the engine blew up.

The linchpin in the plan began to decay like August fruit left in the Sun for too long, which is an appropriate analogy, considering that the Sun is playing such a large role in the ultimate ruination of the Cloward-Piven Strategy. Having almost convinced the world that "the debate was over" on man-made global warming, the left thought that it was inevitable that they would take the checkered flag. Oops, sorry.

An ever-increasing number of scientists who at one time were on board the climate change bus - including some IPCC scientists - have come to their senses and have begun to set the record straight. Not only is the debate far from over, but the assumed victor has fallen way behind. (The link provides a wealth of information on the current state of AGW news).

It is always a shame when decades of hard work, dedication and perseverance go up in smoke. I'd like to say I have empathy for the players in the Cloward-Piven game, but I'm not sorry in the least that they are poised to fail in their diabolical scheme to rule over me and you. In fact, I'm giddy over their pending failure.

Don't Forget The Pestilence

As Congress begins the week debating the disastrous cap and tax legislation, Barbara Boxer is pulling out almost all of the stops. Saying that the bill must be passed to save humanity, she is warning of droughts, floods, fires, loss of species, damage to agriculture, worsening air pollution and more. One can only surmise that the "more" is pestilence or possibly swarms of locusts. It might seem ironic that in order to cool the planet she relies on "fire and brimstone", but it's really not. Here's why.

The bill has nothing at all to do with the climate. It has nothing to do with green energy, creating jobs or energy independence, as Boxer claims. It has everything to do with control and global governance. Don't believe it? Listen to what Al Gore is saying now:

“But it is the awareness itself that will drive the change and one of the ways it will drive the change is through global governance and global agreements.”

As the article also points out, it was former French President Jacques Chirac who also called for global governance. Add to that the comments of former EU Environment Minister Margot Wallstrom, who said:

"Kyoto is about the economy, about leveling the playing field for big businesses worldwide."

And another quote, just for good measure:

"Warming fears are the worst scientific scandal in history...When people come to know what the truth is, they will feel deceived by science and scientists." - UN IPCC Japanese Scientist Dr. Kiminori Itoh, an award-winning PhD environmental physical chemist

There are several issues involved with this whole climate change boondoggle, and the success of the perpetrators in the face of such obvious evidence is frightening. What is truly disturbing, however, is that the people we elected to represent the interests of America and the American people are involved with trying to dismantle her sovereignty in favor of a World Government.

Fortunately, James Inhofe is fighting valiantly to stop this madness, but with 60 seats in the Senate, the democrats hold the reins of power. I pray that whatever they foist upon America can be undone when Republicans once again hold that power, because if this bill gets passed by the Senate - and there is no question that Obama will sign it before the paper cools - we will be spreading the wealth not just to poorer neighborhoods in America, but to nations all over the world. There will be a global carbon tax that will allow the UN to charge American companies - and ostensibly individuals - for carbon and take the money to give to other countries.

I wish more people would see this for what it is before it's too late. I also wish the media would do its job in informing the public, but it seems that they been bought by the liberal establishment completely.

Emulate The East

This time I mean it. I sincerely hope that our U.S. Senate emulates Europe and Asia when they vote on Obama's climate bill/cap and trade scheme.

At issue this week on Capitol Hill is the senate deliberations on climate change (global warming for the old-school crowd). After Speaker Pelosi and her cohorts in Congress whipped their membership into submission and an ultimate "aye" vote on punishing the American people through punitive legislation on energy, the Senate now is slated to consider the vote. The arrival of Al Franken - the newest senator on the Hill - gives the Democrats a super-majority, a filibuster-proof 60%.

That's relevant, however, only if virtually every member votes along party lines, something that seems increasingly more unlikely given the emerging proclamations by China, Russia and most recently, India. Three of the most rapidly growing economies - and by virtue of such, CO2 emitters - have done something our own congress will not; they actually took the time to realistically study the negative impacts cap and trade would have on their economies. As a result, all three have opted out of the Copenhagen Accord which would, if adopted, replace the Kyoto Protocol.

Ostensibly, the whole intent of such machinations are designed to protect the planet from harmful CO2, maligned as a "pollutant" and a greenhouse gas. Rising levels of CO2, we're told, are causing global temperatures to rise and, therefore, we have to cut our emissions drastically and quickly. Going on the assumption that this is true just for the sake of argument, our own reductions without those of other industrialized nations will accomplish nothing more than destroying our economy once and for all.

Now let's toss the assumption of veracity out and address the truth. The climate has been steadily cooling since the turn of the century. In fact, just since the release of Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth, the average global temperature has dropped .74 degrees fahrenheit. That is strange considering that CO2 concentrations have continued to rise: That is not how the true believers tell us it's supposed to be. If we're still pumping CO2 into the atmosphere, and CO2 is a greenhouse gas that causes global warming, how could the Earth possibly be cooling? Perhaps the entire notion of anthropogenic global warming (AGW) is an equation designed by a nefarious mind and adopted by legions of lesser ones. Quite telling is the trend currently being set; anyone who has been paying attention would have noticed that the urgency of the true believers is matched equally by the numbers of scientists emerging in opposition to AGW.

As the case crumbles around them, the true believers feverishly work to enact damaging - and most likely, catastrophic - legislation before the opportunity disappears. I only hope that enough members of the Senate realize this before they finish off America.

EPA: Everyone Pay Attention

Will wonders never cease? The mainstream media has reported on something detrimental to their agenda.

I am stunned yet gratified that CBS News has actually reported on the EPA squashing a report questioning the science of anthropogenic global warming. The report called into question the causation of CO2 emissions and their effect on the climate. It also cautioned that limitations on emissions would have little or no impact on climate change, effectively rendering the president's proposed cap and trade scheme useless and pointless. In other words, it exposed the legislation approved by the House of Representatives yesterday as the scam that many of you have already known it to be; the largest tax increase in the history of the nation that will accomplish nothing more than spreading the wealth.

Alan Carlin, Senior Operations Research Analyst at the EPA's National Center for Environmental Economics, told CBSNews.com in a telephone interview on Friday that his boss, Al McGartland, was being pressured himself. "It was his view that he either lost his job or he got me working on something else," Carlin said. "That was obviously coming from higher levels." Also from the linked article:

Less than two weeks before the agency formally submitted its pro-regulation recommendation to the White House, an EPA center director quashed a 98-page report that warned against making hasty "decisions based on a scientific hypothesis that does not appear to explain most of the available data."

Leading up to yesterday's vote in the House, Al Gore and Nancy Pelosi were burning up the phone lines to members, beseeching them to vote for the bill on climate change. The EPA knew about this report and let it happen anyway, because they were getting pressure from above that the legislation was going to be passed and that they had better get out of the way. It should be no mystery to any thinking person that there is something foul afoot.

First it was the IPCC and the Gore-ites insisting that the "science was settled" and that anyone who dared question them were heretics and fools. Now there is collusion within our own government to ram through an horrendous piece of legislation that will cause irreparable harm to our economy, something of which I have been warning for years. Hopefully more mainstream media outlets will bring this to the public's attention so they can see that this scam is designed for no good purpose.

In the meantime, I encourage all of you to read up on this EPA scandal and bring it up when you contact your senators. Let them know not only that you are dead set against this bill, but also that you are on to the scheme and will not tolerate the destruction of your country. Here are a few good links:
