New Position: The "Upside-Down Alinsky"

I don't like this picture, do you?
As I write this, I am still stunned by how people like us have been so easily marginalized by the wicked Left. In fact, I will require a little help from you, Dear Reader, as we progress through this essay.

When I was a young man, I thought that the possibility of living as a second-class citizen in America was unthinkable, even laughable to a point, because the idea that the radicals of my time, who were not only considered weird but toxic, could ever hope to succeed. Now, when I arise every day (thank you Lord!), I find myself at the bottom of that particular food chain. How did this happen? When did the weirdos rise to prominence?

Well, near as I can tell, it happened while we were basking in the glory of our successes. Not an entirely bad thing, since we -- and I credit our grandparents and parents with the use of "we" -- fought like Hell for those successes, but we still fell into complacency. The problem is, the Left never rests. They are as patient as radical Islamists in their quest for dominance, and we let them slide right by us while we celebrated our peaceful holidays, such as Independence Day.

Ironic it is, then, that we now fight anew for independence and liberty against the efforts of those who once shared in our own backyard barbecues. However, seeing what they have become in their arrogance and new found hubris, it is now horrifying that we ever broke bread with these people in the first place.

Saul Alinsky published his Rules for Radicals in 1971 and laid the groundwork for what we today experience, whereby anyone who cherishes the old America many of us love and remember is cast as an evil S.O.B. and castigated as any number of labels from evil or greedy to homophobic and xenophobic. Basically, we hate anyone who isn't white or straight. Try now to wriggle out of that net.

Alinsky, while laying out the strategy to force patriots into irrelevancy, was the strategist for the tactical maneuvers of Cloward and Piven, the duo responsible for our floundering economy today, but Alinsky still remains the more easily conquered foe. All we have to do is use verbal Ju Jitso on the left.

Name calling has traditionally been beneath Conservatives, considered a silly game for amateurs, but it has been our undoing over the past few decades. (Of course, our failure to preserve our educational system has also contributed to our demise). However, I think we are past the time to remain honorable in our debates with these evil bastards, and we must turn Alinsky's strategy on its head.

A good place to start is the abortion issue. MSNBC's Melissa Harris-Perry recently stated that life begins when the parents "feel" it does. Huh? Is this some form of validation of the Casey Anthony verdict? Harris-Perry -- and her ilk in general -- actually advocates the murder of children up to the age of 3. See the link here.

Abortion has been a hotly contested issue for decades, but now the Devil-worshipping Left has upped the ante. While they declare a "war on women" when we dare to oppose the murder of the unborn, they are now pushing for the murder of the already born if they prove to be "inconvenient".  Call me old fashioned, but I consider that murder, and the proponent's evil.

So let's just start calling the Left evil, Devil-worshipping death mongers who hate children. And begin to ask them in public why they hate kids. If my words seem cruel or over the top, consider this Alinsky quote:
“Lest we forget at least an over the shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins - or which is which), the very first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom - Lucifer.”

― Saul D. Alinsky, Rules for Radicals: A Pragmatic Primer for Realistic Radicals
The hero of the people now in charge of a large portion of our lives openly admires the Devil, and we allow ourselves to be portrayed as the enemies of Humanity...does anyone see a problem here?? Or is it too late for ordinary sinners to repent?

I pray it is not.

Another Day, Another Lie: The Kick the Can Caper

Kicked one too many times
From the king of "say one thing, mean another", we have a new saga before us, courtesy of Barack Hussein Obama. For anyone who remembers back that far, the government shutdown in September was replete with accusations and recriminations over the Republicans' handling of the whole situation. In the argument over continuing resolutions, the President scolded Republicans for figuratively "kicking the can down the road", and demanded a clean bill to give him basically a blank check forever and ever.

So yesterday was an interesting day in Obamaland for a variety of reasons, but the most interesting was his "correction" on the Affordable Care Act (ACA), commonly known as Obamacare. Obama, after "learning" that millions of people were being dumped by their insurance companies, albeit to comply with Obamacare, rode in to save the day by basically...giving that old can a good, swift kick.

Yesterday the King magnanimously decreed that -- never mind that the damage has already been wrought --those who have had their policies cancelled by their insurance companies will be able to "keep their plans". Um, again. Yes, Obama will allow the peasants to stay in their comfort zones...for another year. Great, so what happens when that year is up? Does the Monarch of Milk and Honey issue another decree, giving the peasants yet another stay, or does he then bring the hammer down?

In my opinion, based on his assumption that Obama will finish his second term the same way he began his first -- with full Democratic control of two branches of the government -- it will finally be the time when all pretenses are laid aside and we will see the true monster we elected, present company excluded, of course. An interesting point to ponder is what will a seasoned president do with such unfettered power, considering how he has already been damn near omnipotent despite some modicum of Republican resistance? The possibilities are frightening.

Even now, as the debate hovers ever so close to questioning Obama's unilateral rewriting of legislative laws, every politician on the Hill seems to cower at the spectre of actually calling Obama out on his unconstitutional actions. I have maintained from the beginning that the law, the ACA, that Democrats fought like hell to protect was not even the same law passed by Congress in 2010 and signed by Obama. Yet during the psuedo-filibuster by Ted Cruz, politicians on both sides of the aisle reminded the American people that the ACA was "the law of the land". Poppycock!

Now, even the President's "fix" is seen as doing more harm than good. Insurance companies were complying with the law when cancelling policies, and now must find a way to reinstate these policies. The problem is, they are finding it nearly impossible to maintain the old premiums.

Meanwhile, the President is claiming that he is not changing the law, a way to cleverly navigate the questions of legality by saying that the administration in using "enforcement discretion" as a way to do it. But this brings up yet another problem with the Constitution where Obama is concerned, and that is the matter of oath keeping.
They don't even belong here
yet they protest with impunity.

Just as with the immigration issue, where the Obama administration has not only refused to enforce immigration laws but has actually sued American law enforcement entities for enforcing them, refusing to deport captured  illegal aliens, Obama is now refusing -- for one year -- to enforce a portion of his own namesake, Obamacare. Why bother to swear in elected officials if they can arbitrarily dismiss their oaths? Do we as a people not even care anymore?

And John McCain, after blistering Ted Cruz for his principled stand, has come out and called for repeal of Obamacare, while the President attempts another good kick at the can in hopes of running out the clock until 2014. Before we lose the House of Representatives and surrender complete control to Obama, perhaps it's time to employ Lucy from the Peanuts comic strip to move the can before Obama can kick it again.

When Mankind Had Honor

Remember when oaths had meaning?
It's time to say the words out loud; America is coming unglued, and if we remain on our sofas year after year, it will unravel within a few more years, just like a toilet paper core left out in a heavy rain. As long as we as a people keep relying on our neighbors to do the heavy lifting at the polls, we will watch the sun set on the America we have become so complacent with, and then it will too late to take it back.

I have a confession to make. I did not vote yesterday, simply because there were no elections in my state that would affect the national scene. I had no House Representatives to vote against, and no Senators. No governors, either, so I sat this one out. Despite my myopia regarding national elections, I must change my views, although my passion for national politics all but consumes me. I tremble to think what might happen if I drill down to the municipal level.

But enough about me. Let's now talk about the state of our federal government, and what it has become; a pit of vile, bold liars who hold no honor among them, save for a few brave men who are promptly cast as heretics and "extremists", even by members of the same party they chose to represent. But even this essay is not about those who profess to lead us, but rather about how we allow the lies to be passed to us so effortlessly by those "leaders".

There was a time when the men -- and later women -- whom we elect to represent us would not tell a lie because it was anathema to their core beliefs. Later, the reasons changed to not lying because they might be revealed. Not a noble endeavor, but at least binding to a certain extent, and watched closely by a media who was still on the side of the people and who would blow the referees' whistle on a moment's notice.

Today, we have not only the Democratic National Committee (DNC) lying straight to our faces, but the President himself, and a media, borne out of decades of exposure to the federal Department of Education, who either ignore the lies of the Democrat party, or actively aid in the propagation of them. Lying has become an art form, devoid of shame and absent of any stigma whatsoever. Worse yet is that those who call these lies for what they truly are are castigated as lunatics and derided as partisan hacks.

Most of us knew when Barack Obama began spouting his now infamous line that "if you like your plan, you can keep your plan" that it was a lie, but now that that lie has been exposed for what it was all along, there appears to be little traction for the big story among the media. Granted, it may be early, but Obama himself seems to have no problem with layering on more lies, and I have seen no evidence of outrage among the media. Piers Morgan expressed some level of discomfort, but who watches him anyway?

Now Obama is out there trying to tell us he said one thing and meant another, even though his original statements about keeping your doctor and keeping your plans carried no caveat whatsoever. In fact, in a speech to the American Medical Association, June 15, 2009, Obama had this to say (emphasis mine):
“That means that no matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise to the American people: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period. If you like your health-care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health-care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what.”

All of this -- despite my detours -- leads us to the big question; we know the Conservative ideology is the most popular throughout the United States, so why do we keep losing ground in election after election? It's time we stop wringing our hands and wondering why that is so. It is our own damned fault. We assume that our candidate is solid -- or in some cases already defeated -- and so then sit it out out Election Day, and that has to change.

But it's not about simply getting to the polls...it's about helping to get the right candidates to those polls. And the Democrats, the media, and even some Republicans, have already made it clear that our preferred candidates are not acceptable to them. Um, isn't that our first clue that we have picked the right ones already?

Look at what we accomplished in the 2010 mid-term elections. There is no reason to believe that we cannot do it again. We must do it again for, if you believe as I do, the very survival of our nation depends on it. Don't let the media hide the truth to shield Obama, and for heaven's sake, don't let them pick our candidates anymore.
