This is a video making the circuit today, and while most of the talk is about either Obama's getting booed by the crowd or his athletic prowess, I saw it from a different perspective.
While the booing is audibly coming from nearly half, if not more, of the crowd, the reason is somewhat unclear. Are they booing just because it's Obama, or are they booing because he's at a Washington Nationals' game - against the Philadelphia Phillies - and dons a Chicago White Sox cap?
I'm not sure, but what I saw made me think with even more conviction that he proved just how divisive he really is, even in the relatively petty realm of a sporting event. He didn't just trot out to the mound already wearing the offending topper, he waited until he was on camera and then whipped it out with a flourish, almost mocking the crowd. Then again, it could have been his way of punctuating his disdain for popular opinion.
And then, as if to prove he's no misogynist, he threw to home like a girl. (Apologies to most of the girls I know who could have done much better).
